Success Pays is a way to assist healthcare professionals in achieving certification while eliminating test-taking anxiety and financial barriers. Clinicians are given two opportunities to test for a certification specialty and your healthcare organization only pays for those who pass. How the Program Works
Applicants must first meet eligibility requirements and then can apply for any of the following certifications. This includes certification by exam, certification renewal, and the retired certified nurse recognition program.
- Your healthcare organization contracts to provide the required number of eligible clinicians to pursue certification by exam. There is no minimum or maximum number for certification renewals.
- ANCC assigns your hospital a unique code, which you distribute to your clinicians.
- Individual clinicians use the code in place of traditional payment methods. No other discounts may be used.
- The individual clinicians takes the test or completes the renewal requirements.
- When a nurse passes, a fee for the exam or renewal appears on a monthly invoice to your organization.
- If a nurse fails the first time, one retest is available at no additional cost.
- If a nurse fails the retest your organization is not charged.
- Your organization increases its number of board-certified nurses, with no financial risk!

The mission of American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of American Nurses Association (ANA), is to promote excellence in healthcare globally through credentialing programs.
ANCC is the only nurse credentialing organization to achieve International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) 9001:2015
ANCC exams are developed and maintained at ANCC headquarters by volunteer subject matter experts.

Why Certify?
Certification is a process, often voluntary, by which a nongovernmental agency or association grants a time-limited recognition and use of a credential to individuals who have demonstrated the knowledge and skills and have met predetermined and standardized criteria required in the profession/role. Its purpose is to assure various publics that an individual has mastered a body of knowledge and acquired skills in a particular specialty. ANCC certification Meets and exceed nationally recognized standards of proficiency and professionalism, and represents:

Steps to Apply
A unique discount code specific to your organization is assigned once an agreement is approved and made effective. When registering for the exam, applicants will use this code to associate their initial certification application with the designated Success Pays account. Clinicians will need to:
- Create an ANCC account (new customers).
- Click on their selected specialty certification.
- After the page for their specialty has successfully loaded, click “Apply Online”.
- Select/add certification to cart.
- Complete Registration information and online application requirements.
- On the checkout page, enter the provided Success Pays code in the “Enter Promotional Code” field.
- Click “Apply Promo” or hit the “tab” button to adjust the order total to $0.00.
- Click “Process My Order” toward the bottom left of the page as the final step of the certification registration process. This should zero the balance. Please do not enter credit card information.
